Evaluation of workforce competency and training needs on environmental health in China: Vol. III

The Chinese government recognizes the need to enhance environmental and health management systems in order to prepare for expected impacts of climate change in the future. An intensive workforce training program is urgently needed for local environment and health practitioners. This evaluation of workforce competency and training needs has been carried out in order to define the training contents and targets.

This document also outlines the current health management systems and structures in place, provides an overview of current training and education that is being provided, as well as offers recommendations to the Chinese government on ways to enhance the education of environmental health staff and improve current environmental health training.
