Youth SDGtelling challenge: Youth, the SDG Generation

In honor of International Youth Day, the SDG Fund launches the "SDGtelling challenge: Youth, the SDG Generation". What is the most vital challenge to poverty facing your community and your generation? Tell the SDG Fund what issue you believe deserves more attention, and explain why it is important.

Any young person or under from anywhere in the world can submit their answer to that question in a one minute video, or in written form, in 450 words or less.  Ideally, your focus will be on working to creation solutions linked to SDGs and issues compounding youth, such as employment, education, and empowerment.

The 10 most compelling submissions will become part of our website at the SDG Fund. www.sdgfund.org. Winners will be announced in 19th September, coinciding with the first anniversary of the SDGs approval.

The challenges we face as a global community have never been tougher, and the youth of the world have an important perspective to share. Now is your chance to be heard. Please participate by sharing your stories or ideas, our twitter is @SDGFund.

Deadline for submissions is 15th September.

The SDG Fund, the first mechanism specific created to bring together UN Agencies, government, civil society and business to achieve SDGs, is already working in 23 countries, in many of them strong focus on working with youth. For example, in Cote D’Ivoire, Mozambique and Sierra Leone where the fund works with mineral extractive industries to generate employment growth opportunities, especially for young women and men. Or in Fiji, Samoa and Vanuatu, where the SDG Fund is creating employment opportunities for youth in organic agriculture through a value chain approach utilizing public private partnerships within the key economic sectors of agriculture and tourism.
